What is the difference between WR250F and WR250R?

What is the difference between WR250F and WR250R?

Despite the WR designation, the WR250R is not based on the WR250F off-road bike at all—the 2017 Yamaha WR250R has a completely different chassis and motor from the WR250F. So, starting with a nearly clean sheet, the WR250R is a purpose-built dual-sport motorcycle.

What tires come on a WR250R?

Pirelli MT-21 front tire with Dunlop D606 rear tire One of the more popular tire setups for the Yamaha WR250R is to run a Pirelli MT-21 (size 90/90-21) on the front and a Dunlop D606 (size 120/90-18) on the rear.

Yamaha WR250R – On The Road Brakes are powerful enough, despite being more off-road orientated, and the long travel suspension offers a great level of support and control, without any huge dive onto the brakes in road conditions.

What kind of rear tire do I need for a WR250R?

REAR TIRE NOTE: The Dunlop D606 is only available in a 120/90-18 size, which is a relatively tall tire, and will make your already-tall-bike sit even higher. If you want to stick with the shorter stock 120/80-18 rear tire size, then the Pirelli MT 21 Rallycross is available in that configuration.

Is the Pirelli mt21 a dual sport tire?

I’m not sure how they managed to get away with claiming this as a dual sport tire. The only place the tire worked was on the dry asphalt. This tire is smooth as silk (for a knobby) on the street, however, riding in any type of off road terrain was nothing short of sphincter puckering. Here’s some scary snow action with the MT21.

Which is better the 130 or the 140 Pirelli mt21?

A big question is, which MT21. The 130 is a lot more aggressive than the 120, and the 140 even more so. There are very few places a teraflex took me a 130 or 140 MT21 could not, but the -21 is obviously not a knobby. I’m really happy with my D606 rear but the front likes to wash out on me more than I care.

Is the Pirelli mt21 Trak master a good car?

+1 on the rear Trak Master. Wears reasonable well even w/ some road miles, and sticks very well in mud, rocks, sand, & even pavement. Plus, they’re like $40! I had the MT21’s front and rear on my XT350. They were a little noisy at hwy speed, but not bad for traction on or off-road.
