Is O2 roaming free in Europe?
The O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On, included with selected O2 Refresh and sim only tariffs, lets you roam in 75 destinations at no extra cost. Your data, minutes and text allowances will work in our Europe Zone, just like they do at home. There’s no upper usage limit on data, but data speeds might vary.
Will O2 have roaming charges?
O2 Travel provides a separate allowance of data, minutes and texts to use while you’re away. Your standard UK tariff allowances won’t be impacted. If you go over the daily calls and texts limit, you’ll be charged at the standard roaming rates in that country for any additional usage.
Does O2 pay as you go work in Europe?
We cover roaming in our Europe Zone as part of our tariffs. So if you buy one of our Big Bundles, your minutes, texts and data can be used in the UK and in our Europe Zone. And for our Classic Pay As You Go tariffs, you’ll be charged in our Europe Zone in the same way as you would be at home.

What are EE roaming charges?
Mobile operator EE will charge new UK customers extra to use their mobile phones in Europe from January. Those joining or upgrading from 7 July 2021 will be charged £2 a day to use their allowances in 47 European destinations from January 2022.
How do I activate roaming on EE abroad?
Before you go:
- check if your plan lets you use your phone abroad.
- check if your device is set up to use abroad – just text ROAMING to 150.
- turn on data roaming in your device settings.
- make sure your bill’s paid up to date or you’ve got credit.
Do EE have roaming charges?
EE is the first UK operator to officially reintroduce roaming charges, although O2 has said it will impose an extra “fair use” charge if customers use more than 25GB of data in a month.

Otherwise we may charge you for using our services in our Europe Zone (excluding the UK). What happens when I use my O2 phone outside of the UK?
If you use your phone in a country outside of our Europe Zone, our normal roaming charges will apply. Making calls and sending texts within our Europe Zone (excluding the UK), to any other country in our Europe Zone (including the UK).
How does roaming work in the UK and Europe?
We cover roaming in our Europe Zone as part of our tariffs. So your data, minutes and text allowances will work in our Europe Zone, just like they do at home. This means you are able to make calls and send texts back home or within our Europe Zone, like you’d normally do in the UK.
When does O2 stop charging for travel to Europe?
If you’ve already used O2 Travel in Europe this will automatically be deactivated in our Europe Zone. This means that from 15 June 2017 you’ll no longer be charged for O2 Travel when you’re in our Europe Zone, as you can use your UK Pay As You Go tariff as explained above.
