The IBEW, or International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, is a non‐profit labor organization, as defined in the Labor‐Management Reporting and Disclosure Act. Basically, the IBEW is an organization of workers with common concerns and aspirations.
How much are union dues for electricians?
Membership in the IBEW, like membership in any other organization, comes with the obligation to pay periodic dues. The monthly dues payment, currently $57/month (2020), is divided into two parts.
How do you become an IBEW lineman?
To become a Journeyman Lineman the apprenticeship requires a minimum of 7000 hours on the job training, which usually takes 3 to 4 years. There are a total of 7 steps in the apprenticeship program where approximately every six months there is an advancement to the next step.
What do IBEW apprentices do?
The apprenticeship program is designed to train people with little or no prior knowledge of the electrical craft or trade. Apprentices work during the day with an electrical contractor, who pays the apprentice directly for time worked, and then attend classroom instruction in the evening.

Referral sign-in shall take place any time during normal operating hours of the business office, (including lunch hour). Registration may also be accomplished during or after business hours using the UnionWorx app or website, see Item 5. 2.
