Does file History require NTFS?
File History requires using the NTFS file system. File History relies on the journal feature of NTFS to track file changes. The Select a drive link will allow you to set a new drive for File History.

What is file History drive?
File history is a Windows 10 functionality that allows the user to save versions of his or her files and store them on an external hard drive. It is an additional method for recovering files only alongside system restore as compared to system restore only in the older versions of windows.
Can I delete the file history folder?
Every time any of your personal files has changed, its copy will be stored on a dedicated, external storage device selected by you. Over time, File History builds a complete history of changes made to any personal file. However, it is a personal choice to delete it.
Should I turn file history on or off?
Running File History once every hour should be enough for most people. By default File History keeps saved versions of your files, forever. If you edit, add, or remove files frequently, this setting may leave you out of storage space for backups, relatively quickly.
Where is file History stored?
By default, File History will be set to back up important folders to your user account’s home folder. This includes the Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos folders. It also includes the Roaming folder, where many programs store application data, your OneDrive folder, and other folders.
